She Doesn't Remember

True story! My mother still remembers the stain many decades later.

Her walk down the aisle to stand with

her sweetheart, to start a new life.

She cannot recall how he looked in her eyes,

or the promises made to each other.

She only remembers her tears and the napkin

to sop up the red wine spilled on her white dress.
